Editorial Advisory Engagements
Whether you're speaking to clients, partners, funders, or media, your editorial assets hav to do more than fill space—they must to carry weight. With an award-winning journalism background and decades of experience in narrative architecture and editorial strategy, I develop editorial assets—content you fully own and leverage—that are sharp, credible, and built for high-stakes environments.
This is not generic content or AI output (though I can revise that for professional use). It’s more complex, high-context, high-performance human writing that reflects your voice, your values, and your vision—refined by someone who understands what’s at risk if it misses the mark.
Testimonial
“Dahna is exceptional at editorial strategy, and I’m incredibly impressed by both the speed and quality of the strategy she delivered for us! Her sector-specific expertise is both broad and outstanding, and she’s a pleasure to collaborate with. Strategic communications is truly her zone of genius, and I recommend her highly.”

Focused Expertise for Work That Matters
Seven Sibs Consulting offers a small menu of defined engagements exclusively for established Seven Sisters alumnae.
These aren't discounted versions of larger consulting engagements. Each offer has been designed specifically for work that can be completed effectively within a limited scope.
I accept a limited number of these engagements each month.
Core Solutions
Below are my small, tightly bounded, core solutions and their investment levels.
Senior Editorial Review
$500
for up to 650 words
$750
for up to 825 words
$1,000
for up to 1,250 words
For polished or near-polished work that would benefit from experienced editorial review before publication.
I review the piece for clarity, structure, argument, audience relevance, credibility, voice, unnecessary language, and overall editorial effectiveness. I then edit accordingly while preserving the author's expertise and intended voice.
Appropriate for media articles, essays, blog posts, executive communications, commentary, and similar professional work.
This is substantive editorial review and editing of an existing draft. It isn't ghostwriting, developmental reconstruction, research, fact-checking, or unlimited revision.
Thought Leadership Strategy
Starting at $500
For an established entrepreneur, consultant, advisor, author, or independent professional who has genuine expertise but needs a clearer way to express it consistently on one social platform.
The engagement focuses on a defined thought-leadership objective and results in practical strategic direction for subjects, positioning, editorial priorities, and how your expertise can translate into a recognizable body of public thinking.
This isn't social media management, a posting service, personal-brand reinvention, or an ongoing content calendar.
Manuscript/Story Diagnostic
Starting at $500 for up to 750 words
Sometimes the problem isn't sentence-level editing. You know a piece isn't working, but you need to understand why before deciding what to do with it.
After asking you some clarifying questions, I'll assess the draft as an experienced editor and provide a focused diagnostic identifying the most consequential issues affecting the piece and my recommendations for addressing them.
This is particularly useful before undertaking a significant revision, submitting an article or story, or commissioning further editorial development.
The diagnostic doesn't include rewriting or line editing unless separately commissioned.
Expert Article Development
Starting at $750 for up to 950 words
For established professionals who have the expertise, source material, and substantive idea but want an experienced journalist and editorial practitioner to develop the finished article.
Depending on the assignment, the engagement may include a focused interview with you, review of materials you provide, development of the article's editorial direction, and writing of the finished piece.
Pricing increases when an assignment requires independent research, additional interviews, extensive source material, fact-checking, or greater complexity.
This isn't commodity content writing. I
selectively accept assignments where my editorial expertise is
appropriate to the subject and objective.
Other Editorial Solutions
I offer other solutions that can be larger projects—like the one described in the testimonial above—but your investment in these still depend on a clearly bounded scope. They include:
- Founder Bio: A professional, voice-aligned introduction that establishes your leadership, expertise, and relevance (May be bundled with the "Founder Origin Story")
- Founder Origin Story: Clearly articulate your "why", including your background, sector positioning, and core values (May be bundled with the "Founder Bio")
- Website or Blog Editorial Content: Help your audience understand who you serve, what you offer, and why it matters with journalistic-style writing
- Narrative Blog Posts: Perspective-driven pieces that introduce your approach and signal your expertise
- Content Repurposing: Turning existing materials—proposals, outlines, transcripts—into publishable editorial assets
- Narrative Reframing: Strengthening your message for clarity, tone, audience, and strategic alignment and creating a specific editorial strategy for that new narrative
My commitment is to supporting the Seven Sibs community with editorial assets that reflects our standards of excellence.
Who These Solutions Are For
Through this practice, I work exclusively with Seven Sisters alum who are established independent consultants, small business owners, or small nonprofit leaders, who have no internal marketing or communications team but have worked with a marketing or communications consultants before. If you're still figuring out what you need, I may not be the right fit.
To ensure I can provide personalized attention, these reduced rates apply only to alumnae-led consultancies, small enterprises, or nonprofits with five or fewer employees. I do not work with early stage solopreneurs or unfunded startups, but provide some resources* at the end of this page for you.
Please note that clients outside our alumnae network—or alumnae with larger organizations—are welcome to inquire, but standard consulting rates will apply.
Note: If you're a senior executive at a enterprise-level institution seeking an experienced narrative architecture or editorial advisory consultant , please explore the solutions I offer here. They are offered to institutional clients in specific sectors at my standard professional rate, and you should connect with me from those sites directly.
How These Engagements Work
My process isn't prescriptive. It's co-creative, centering your editorial goals. You'll start by asking about one of these plans by emailing me or sending me a direct message on social media, and we'll briefly discuss your objectives there first. Then, we have with a complimentary, 30-minute, no obligation introductory call to determine if my solutions are a fit for you.
If we decide to move forward, I will send you an invoice, which is payable in full by bank ACH in advance and an engagement agreement you must sign before we begin working together. Every project begins with a defined deliverable, scope, fee, and schedule. Each engagement includes the specific revision terms stated in the agreement rather than open-ended revision rounds.
Work outside that scope requires a separate agreement or additional fee.
Once you pay the invoice and sign the agreement, I will send you a list of questions specific to your needs to answer during the discovery call(s) we’ll schedule.
I will record the calls, so I focus on our conversation and use the information I get from the recordings to develop content or write your story.
Once I send you your content deliverables, you determine with your team what content or storytelling strategy you’ll use to distribute the content across messaging platforms.
Note: I don't offer spec work, unpaid samples, rush work by default, or guarantees about audience growth, sales, media attention, leads, or other outcomes outside the work itself.

* Resources for Unfunded Startups and Early Stage Business Owners
My editorial advisory engagements are scoped for B2B clients with existing professional experience in the area where they're seeking my solutions. I don't have experience working with product-based businesses.
For those seeking unfunded startup and early growth stage resources and advice, I recommend getting help from early stage small business experts who can help new and early growth stage entrepreneurs start, run, or grow a business. (You will need to research resources for startup nonprofits, but a few of these locations may help you with that.)
For Wellesley alumni, visit our Center for Career Education for complimentary, but limited small business help.
While I do not provide business coaching services to businesses of this size, you can get general insights from my blog posts on the American Express Business Intel platform.
If you're unable or don't wish to meet my minimum starting fee, you might also search Fiverr or Upwork for lower cost options or hire a paid intern from your school. My fees are based on my years of expertise, professional, and educational background and are scoped beginning at the fees identified above.
