About

Senior Professional Judgment, Made Available in Smaller Engagements

I'm Dahna Chandler, a Class of 1995 Wellesley alumna and a master's graduate from Georgetown University with a degree in corporate communications. An award-winning journalist, I'm also a narrative strategist, and editorial advisor with more than 25 years of experience.

My career began in journalism and evolved across editorial strategy, research-backed writing, executive thought leadership, institutional narrative work, and communications strategy. I've worked with preeminent institutions, sophisticated organizations, and subject-matter experts in the financial services, health system and mission-driven cultural or educational institution sectors whose work requires accuracy, judgment, context, and an ability to make complex ideas useful to the people they need to reach.

Seven Sibs Consulting exists for a much narrower purpose. This isn’t a high-volume freelance production firm. Instead, it offers a limited number monthly of small, clearly bounded engagements to 7S alum.

I work best with established entrepreneurs, consultants, authors, advisors, and independent professionals who worked with editorial advisors in the past and already, understand the value of professional expertise, and know what they need help accomplishing.

Testimonial

Dahna is exceptional at editorial asset development, and I’m incredibly impressed by both the speed and quality of the editorial strategy she delivered for us! Her sector-specific expertise is both broad and outstanding, and she’s a pleasure to collaborate with. This is truly her zone of genius, and I recommend her highly.”

Why This Practice Exists

There are times when an established professional doesn't need my larger institutional consulting practice.

You may simply have an important article that needs they eyes of an experienced editor or you may need an outside assessment of a manuscript before deciding how to revise it.

You may have substantial professional expertise but need a focused thought leadership strategy or you may have the knowledge for an story and want an experienced journalist to develop it properly.

Those are legitimate professional needs. They don't necessarily require a large engagement.

Seven Sibs Consulting allows me to take on a limited number of them for fellow Seven Sisters alumnae within clearly defined scopes.

Who I Work With

This practice is intended for established Seven Sisters alumnae, particularly entrepreneurs, consultants, advisors, authors, executives working independently, and other experienced professionals who are accustomed to investing in outside expertise.

How I Work

I approach these projects the same way I approach larger professional assignments: with preparation, candor, editorial independence, respect for the client's expertise, and clear boundaries around what the engagement is intended to accomplish.

I don't believe senior expertise should require unnecessary process simply to justify its value. For the right problem, a focused engagement can be enough.

These engagements are intentionally narrow. You bring an established body of expertise, business, or professional practice. I bring senior editorial judgment to a specific editorial challenge we can solve within a bounded scope.

I also don't promise transformational results from a micro-engagement. What I promise is the professional judgment, attention, and deliverable described in our agreement.
